The Help Our Scheme risk assessment tools are intended to assist the Trustees/Directors/Estate Management and/or Professional Managers/Managing Agents/Third Party Management of Community Schemes to identify their areas of risk, weakness and vulnerability and to provide guidance on how to better manage these risks and improve overall governance and compliance of the Community Scheme.

The areas of vulnerability identified by using the Help Our Scheme tools will also enable better operational and financial control to be implemented and clear accountability for areas of responsibility between owners, Trustees/ Directors, Estate Management, third party Operators and/or Professional Managers/Managing Agents, to be set.

The Help Our Scheme tool and its feedback will not only help both Professionally Managed and Self-Managed Community Schemes to improve their overall management but will help Trustees/Directors and Estate Management in carrying out their roles and responsibilities by ensuring a focus on, and the prioritisation of key areas of weakness and improving their ability to deal with unexpected events.

The tool will be of particular help to inexperienced Trustees/Directors or Community Schemes not having Trustees/Directors with the required skill set or those struggling to get a full complement of Trustees and Directors.

The Help Our Scheme tool can also be used as a key educational aid for Trustees or Directors of the Community Scheme.
